Kash.

Portrait photographer, street shooter and photography instructor. New York knows her as The SoHo Shooter.

“I’m not just taking pictures. I’m preserving the emotions, stories and moments that might otherwise fade with time.”

My story

Fifteen years
of light
& shadow

For more than fifteen years, I’ve been capturing more than images. I’m preserving the emotions, stories and moments that would otherwise slip away.

You’ll usually find me in SoHo with an 85mm lens, watching how light falls across the cast-iron facades and waiting for the moment a stranger becomes a portrait. That’s how I became The SoHo Shooter — and it’s where I learned that the best portraits come from real connection, not perfect conditions.

Today I work with entrepreneurs, artists, couples and individuals in New York and Philadelphia. Every session is a collaboration built on trust, creativity and a shared vision — whether we’re in the studio or out on the street.

I also teach. I co-host hands-on New York City workshops with Tony Northrup, helping photographers stop collecting gear and start making pictures that feel alive.

How I work

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, an artist or a couple, the process is the same: we build the picture together.

01

Trust first

Great portraits start before the shutter clicks. We talk, we plan, and you know exactly what to expect — so you can relax and be yourself.

02

Light & shadow

I shape light on purpose — often with a single source — so every portrait has depth, mood and a little drama.

03

Real connection

The goal isn’t a pose. It’s the moment you forget the camera is there — that’s the frame we keep.

The instructor

How I teach

No gear worship, no jargon. One light, honest feedback and a lot of walking.

“Start with one. Master the friction between one light and a shadow.”

Workshop Wisdom: Common Studio Mistakes

“The “no” is what makes the “yes” feel like a win.”

Rejection and Street Photography

“You can buy the most expensive Sony glass on the market, but it won’t help you if you’re too tired to carry it to the next block.”
